“I wanted to become a dental hygienist, and CCBC offered one of the few accredited programs in Maryland,” she explains. “They accepted me into a program where I could obtain the job I loved.”
Throughout her studies, Nicole gained valuable classroom knowledge and hands-on clinical experience that prepared her for the workforce.
The real-world application of what I learned at CCBC helped me feel confident stepping into private practice.
That preparation paid off. Nicole is now working in private practice and building the foundation for her long-term goals. “I would like to continue in private practice for several years while I pursue a master’s degree,” she shares. “Eventually, I hope to expand into education and public health, where I can share my knowledge and make a broader impact.”
While she faced challenges balancing work and school, Nicole credits CCBC with giving her the skills and experiences she needed to launch her career. Her journey is a testament to the strength of CCBC’s Dental Hygiene program — and to where a CCBC education can lead.
