Ryan graduated high school with a passion for working on cars. At age 16, he worked as an apprentice technician, and was able to expand upon that passion when he became a student at CCBC. He joined the Automotive Technology program to pursue a career as an automotive technician.
Ryan did hands-on coursework for eight weeks and then worked at a dealership for eight weeks to apply his classroom knowledge.
I enjoyed it so much, I didn't even feel like I was going to college. CCBC's tuition is very affordable, and some employers offer tuition reimbursement. I was fortunate enough to receive two General Motors scholarships that left me with a very small tuition.
Through a combination of hands-on and classroom learning, Ryan earned an automotive technician degree and then transferred to a four-year university where he earned a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering technology. Today he works full-time in the automotive lab, passing his knowledge on to students.
