Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund
Laura's Legacy
As the Engineering Department Chair at the Community College of Baltimore County, Laura LeMire was most proud of her work in helping women and minorities enroll in STEM studies at CCBC, graduate with STEM degrees and acquire STEM-related jobs. She worked tirelessly to obtain and administer grants to help advance students in the STEM field.
Unfortunately, Laura passed away in August 2017, after a two year battle with an aggressive form of breast cancer. In memory of Laura, her family, friends and colleagues created The Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund to continue her work to expand diversity in STEM.
Your contribution will help provide scholarships to qualified CCBC students pursuing STEM degrees and will perpetuate Laura’s work. Donate online»

Triathlon Fundraiser
To partake in a triathlon, one must possess endurance, strength and grit. Fittingly, these qualities were exemplified in the work of Laura LeMire. And in the summer of 2019, Keegan O’Connor, Laura’s nephew and two of his closest friends–Thomas and Tanner—have decided to take on the New York City Triathlon to raise funds in honor of his late aunt. They are not seasoned triathletes. In fact, this is their first attempt to participate in a triathlon and they are determined—with the help of family and friends—to see it through. They have started a training regime to get them mentally and physically ready and they are counting on your support.
Their goal is simple: to raise $100K, on top of the 121k from last year, to support the Laura LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund and to provide scholarship support to qualified CCBC students pursing STEM degrees.
You don’t have to do a triathlon but if you would like to support Keegan and his teammates for a good cause, make a gift today!
