About the Program
The Medical Office Assistant degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in the medical office. With its strong skills and clinical components, graduates of this program may expect to find employment as administrative medical assistants, clinical medical assistants, medical transcriptionists, medical billing clerks, hospital admitting clerks, and hospital unit secretaries.
Certificate programs that focus on core skill sets in this field are available for students who are not prepared to enter into a full degree program. Courses from each certificate program can be applied to the degree at a later time if desired.
The Medical Office Assistant program is designated by the state of Maryland as a Health Manpower Shortage program. Therefore, students from any county can enroll at Baltimore County tuition rates.
