More than 700 guests gathered for the celebration, where they enjoyed good food and great music. Throughout the evening, CCBC paid homage to its many milestones and accomplishments with a “60 years in 60 seconds” video and a visual timeline posted for everyone to see.
Student performers dazzled guests with a dance performance choreographed to music spanning the decades. WJZ weatherman Tim Williams, also a CCBC alumnus, served as the master of ceremonies, taking the audience on a trip down memory lane as he shared his own personal experiences as a student at CCBC.
In addition to the music and lots of food, guests enjoyed mock casino games, old-school video games and pinball machines, a silent auction, and what may prove to be a new favorite – karaoke. In the end, the gala raised nearly $300,000 for student scholarships and programs.
“I started at CCBC when the college held its first annual gala celebrating its 50th anniversary,” said President Sandra Kurtinitis. “Ten years later, we’re celebrating our 60th anniversary and the gala is still amazing! It is the best party in town where we party with a purpose – to create better opportunities for our students through scholarships and enriched programs.”
