CCBC is proud to partner with OneMain Holdings Inc.* to provide students free access to the Scholly app, designed to help students find and apply for the scholarships to continue their education.
Scholly is a scholarship-matching platform that has helped students win over $35 million in scholarship awards. After setting up an account and entering some basic personal information, a student can use the app to turn the months-long process of searching for free money for college into just minutes.
“Moving onto a four-year college or university is something many of our students would like to do, but lack of resources or understanding often limits their awareness of available scholarship opportunities,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis. “Through our partnership with OneMain, we are able to provide up to 1,000 of our students with free access to the Scholly app to give the guidance they need.”
In 2014, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco reported that the average four-year college graduate earns over $800,000 more than the average high school graduate by retirement age. This additional earnings potential could be life-changing for many families and would have a significant positive impact in our community.
“As a company focused on supporting financial education and workforce development, OneMain is well aware of the long-lasting benefits of a college education and we are committed to college readiness, retention and completion,” said Sheldon Caplis, Director of Community Engagement at OneMain. “We encourage everyone interested in attending college to try Scholly to find out what kind of financial assistance may be available to help them take the steps they need towards a better education and a brighter financial future.”
“Working with OneMain and CCBC to help students navigate the college scholarship process is an exciting opportunity for Scholly,” said Jordan Goldenberg, Chief Marketing Officer and Creative Director at Scholly. “Together, we can have a real, meaningful impact on thousands of families. This is what the Scholly app was all about when we designed it, and it fits perfectly with OneMain’s and CCBC’s goals.”
