Forty-two automated external defibrillators installed college-wide

CCBC has enhanced its ability to respond to a medical emergency by adding 30 new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to its current supply. The college now has 42 AEDs which can be found throughout the three campuses and the extension centers.

EVERY building open to the public will now have AEDs, except where two buildings adjoin and are able to share a device. The AEDs are clearly marked and accessible. Most are placed in the main foyer or lobby area of a building; but, a list of all campus locations can be found on the CCBC Public Safety Web page.

The new AEDs broadcast simple instructions in English and Spanish and are user-friendly for those dealing with a medical emergency. Users DO NOT have to be certified in CPR/AED to use the device but the college recommends viewing this training video as a matter of reference.
