CCBC expands opportunities for veterans

Feb 10, 2016

CCBC helps ease college transition for veterans by connecting them with mentors and free college prep courses.

CCBC’s student veteran population makes up an important part of the college community. With approximately 750 veterans enrolled, CCBC wants to make sure our veterans get the support and the resources needed to make their college experience successful.

To help with the transition, CCBC is connecting veteran students with mentors through American Corporate Partners, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting veterans in their transition from the armed services to the civilian workforce. ACP connects post-911 veterans to successful and experienced mentors from top Fortune 500 companies. These mentors can provide career insight and help veterans make valuable network connections. To start a mentorship, visit www.acp-usa.org/mentoring to apply today and note that you were referred by CCBC on the application.

Additionally, through the Warrior-Scholar Project, CCBC is offering its student veterans the opportunity for a free, week-long immersive college prep course at colleges and universities throughout the country. Founded at Yale University in 2012, the Warrior-Scholar Project helps enlisted veterans develop the skill and confidence needed to succeed in higher education. Applications are now being accepted for the Summer 2016 program. Apply today!
