Performing arts students dance, sing and act with masters of their craft.
Imagine having the opportunity to learn directly from accomplished artists (Masters) in your field. This dream is a reality for Performing and Visual Arts students at CCBC. “Giving our students access to Master classes is an incredible teaching tool,” notes Assistant Professor of Dance Melinda Blomquist. “The impact of our Artists-in-Residence and our weekly Master classes is often life changing for our students impacting on their choice of university or career.”
Master classes allow students to learn from seeing, listening to and working under the direction of professionals in the field. Music, Dance, Theatre and Visual Arts classes frequently feature local and national professionals in the field to work with the students. This April the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland will host Young Performers of America featuring singers, actors and dancers who are or have appeared on Broadway to work with CPM students.
