Play it smart with Pokemon Go

Aug 30, 2016

CCBC, with its three main campuses and three extension centers, is a common stop for Pokemon enthusiasts searching for Pokestops or Gyms.

Now that the fall semester has gotten underway, activity on our campuses has increased tremendously. We welcome players and guests on our campuses during normal operating hours; however, for safety purposes, we ask our guests to take note of the following guidelines:
  • The college is closed to all visitors, including students and the public, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., seven days a week. If you are on campus during those times, a CCBC Public Safety officer will ask you to leave the campus for your own safety.

  • Certain parts of the campus are rather isolated and dark after dusk. Do not go into areas of the campus where lighting is low or non-existent, or where you are hundreds of yards from college buildings or nearby homes.

  • Pokestops are selected by their creators, who are not associated with CCBC. Some may be in high-traffic areas, or along a busy roadway. Be sure that you remain aware of your surroundings, and pull off the roadway before conducting your search.
Finally, always know what’s going on around you. Looking down at your device as you walk might cause you to step off a curb, into traffic, or into another pedestrian. Be careful, and call CCBC Public Safety at 443-840-1111 or call 911 if you need help.

Enjoy the hunt!
