Stock the CCBC Student Life Pantry on #GivingTuesday
Nov 12, 2017Support CCBC’s Student Life Pantry on Nov. 28 for #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving focused on helping others through gifts of donations, goods or time. Donations can be made online now through Nov. 28 to count towards CCBC’s #GivingTuesday campaign.
CCBC Student Life Pantries have distributed 21,951 items through 5,702 visits from CCBC students and their families over the past three years. The need continues as a 2016 study by the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness showed that up to 25 percent of community college students experience “food insecurity” while attending school.
Stock the pantry this winter by helping our Student Life office, in partnership with the CCBC Foundation, reach its 2017 #GivingTuesday fundraising goal of $2,500. The Student Life Pantry raised $2,370.95 in 2016. All CCBC donors, alumni, faculty, staff, students and the community are encouraged to donate to stock the pantries on the Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses. Additionally, CCBC giving experiences may be shared via social media posts using the hash tags #GivingTuesday, #CCBC and #stockthepantry to be part of the national conversation and movement celebrating generosity through giving back.
Now that the “season of giving” is here, pay it forward by supporting #GivingTuesday with your contribution so that CCBC students won’t go hungry. No CCBC student should have to choose between food and learning. Make your gift online today.
