CCBC earns Military Times Best: Colleges 2018 Designation
Nov 27, 2017
CCBC has been named one of the Military Times Best: Colleges 2018, formerly known as Best for Vets. For the past eight years, Military Times has ranked two- and four-year colleges through a comprehensive annual survey which provides a school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services and rates of academic achievement.
“CCBC is proud to be ranked as a Military Times Best College for 2018,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis. “Through our Veterans Services department, we are working hard to ensure that those who have served our country are assisted with a successful transition back to civilian life through positive connections to academic, military and social resources.”
CCBC has made the Military Times’ Best Colleges lists for three years – 2014, 2017 and 2018 – because of its excellence in providing a variety of educational and other services for veterans, including access to Veterans Resource Centers on three campuses (Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex), military-connected resources, affordable tuition, and rigorous academic programs that utilize veterans’ existing knowledge while preparing them for career advancement, new professions, or workforce training.
Military Times Best: Colleges 2018 is an editorially independent news project that evaluates the many factors that help make colleges and universities a good fit for service members, military veterans and their families. More than 600 colleges took part in this year’s detailed survey.
"Of the hundreds of schools that applied, fewer than half received the Military Times Best: Colleges designation this year. Only the best made the cut," said George Altman, the Military Times editor in charge of the rankings. "For the past eight years, we've seen colleges and universities consistently increasing their resources, revising their policies and improving their academic outcomes for military and veteran students. The Military Times Best: Colleges rankings showcase the very best of these efforts."
