CCBC hosts Arborist Apprenticeship Demonstration and Job Fair

Jan 16, 2018

CCBC’s Continuing Education department will provide a hands-on learning experience and question and answer session at its Arborist Apprenticeship Demonstration and Job Fair on Friday, Jan. 26, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at CCBC Catonsville.

Anyone interested in a rewarding career while preserving the environment can learn from local employers, first-hand, about the Arborist Apprenticeship Program. The event will feature a live demonstration and attendees can meet local tree care companies interested in hiring arborists to hear about the skills needed for the profession. Arborists work to ensure the health and longevity of trees in communities and parks, including public and private commercial or residential property. CCBC is helping launch the Arborist Apprenticeship Program in Maryland with regional employers and the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA).

Employee training provided by the Arborist Apprenticeship Program benefits participants by helping them to achieve their personal and professional goals:
  • Earn income while learning*
  • Receive classroom instruction
  • Work full-time in the field and be paired with a mentor
*If accepted into the Arborist Apprenticeship, the hourly pay rate begins at $15.40 per hour.
