Working in Progress

Alumni art exhibit open through Sept. 22 at CCBC Essex

Seven CCBC alumni artists will participate in Working in Progress, CCBC’s first alumni art residency and exhibit at The Galleries at CCBC Essex, Arts and Humanities Hall. The Working in Progress exhibit runs through Sept. 22 and culminates with an artists’ reception at The Galleries on Sept. 21, 6-8 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

All the alums were a part of CCBC’s Art, Design and Interactive Media program. The Working in Progress artists are:
  • Bernard Bagalso, Illustrator, Comic Creator, Class of 2017
  • Liberty Carter, Fiber Artist, Class of 2014
  • Skip Chipps, Ceramic Artist, Class of 2017
  • Sara Hutton, Ceramic Artist, Class of 2014
  • Xavier Jones, Graphic Designer, Class of 2016

All of the alumni artists are now working on their projects and welcome visitors to The Galleries at CCBC Essex to speak with them or observe as they create their artwork. Visitors can watch an artist’s work develop over the life of the exhibition and learn about their techniques, processes and artistic inspirations. At the Sept. 21st reception, all of the artwork created during the residency will be on public display.
