CCBC celebrates VP Mark McColloch

The CCBC community will gather at 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22 at CCBC Essex to celebrate the retirement of Mark McColloch, Vice President of Instruction. Dr. McColloch joined CCBC in 2006 following stints at City University of New York’s Queensborough Community College and University of Pittsburgh, at Greensburg where he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs.

McColloch has been a dedicated leader, committed to providing CCBC students with an exceptional learning experience. As vice president of Instruction, he oversees the college’s seven schools – all academic departments and programs including Assessment, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Developmental Education, Honors, Instructional Technology and CCBC Online, the libraries and tutoring.

Dr. McColloch’s depth of experience and expertise resonates throughout CCBC, having made important advances for the future of the college. From groundbreaking programs in Developmental Education to unique programs like Culturally Responsive Teaching and Global Education, his efforts have enriched and extended the learning experience of all CCBC students.

“Dr. McColloch has had a distinguished career at CCBC and we are proud to have been a stop on his academic career journey,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis. “We are all the better for his having lent his wit, his wisdom, his intellect and his diplomacy to the many challenges and tasks CCBC set before him.”

Vice President McColloch officially retires Oct. 31, 2018.
