Kids’ Spring Smile-tacular offers free dental services for children

Mar 05, 2021

CCBC's Dental Hygiene program will host the Kids’ Spring Smile-tacular from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at CCBC Dundalk, 7200 Sollers Point Road in the Dental Arts Building.

Services include free dental examinations, cleanings, and fluoride treatments for children ages 5 to 17. CCBC’s Dental Hygiene students will perform services under the supervision of a dentist and Dental Hygiene faculty.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to be treated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only one adult per child will be allowed. Face coverings (when not being treated) and social distancing are required.

According to a February 2021 article in the Journal of the American Dental Association, caregivers reported that the greatest unmet child health care need during the COVID-19 pandemic was dental care (16%),  more common in households where job or income loss occurred.

With the Kids’ Smile-tacular, CCBC is hoping to assist those families who may not have been able to continue their children’s dental care during the pandemic.

The dental services are free, but an appointment is required. To register, call 443.840.3340 and leave a daytime telephone number where you can be reached to schedule an appointment.
