Rosedale, MD – The Community College of Baltimore County, Essex Athletics today announced its men’s lacrosse team will host its 8th Annual Meet the Team Night on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Wellness and Athletics Center located on the Essex Campus.

“It is always exciting to kick off our season with Meet the Team Night,” said head coach Shawn Burke. “We’re in our eighth year with the event and looking forward to having the opportunity to interact with our fans, alumni, faculty and families, and give them a preview of the upcoming season.”

The event is free of charge and open to the general public, alumni, media, and team family members. In addition, the Bryan P. Healy Foundation will be on hand to present its annual scholarship donation to the men’s lacrosse team.

The Knights won its ninth consecutive National Junior College Athletic Association Region XX title last season and ended the season by participating in the NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship, hosted by Onondaga Community College (Syracuse, N.Y.), as one of the nation’s final four teams.

This season, the Knights return 13 student athletes that are led by team captains Kevin Doherty (Chantilly, Va.), Riley Ford (Edgewater, Md.), Brook Rideau (Clayton, Calif.), and Brody Bartell (Jacksonville, Md.).

Media members that would like to cover the event should contact Rocco Geppi at or (443) 840-1751. Coaches and student athletes will be available for interviews upon request, with Burke, Doherty, Ford, Rideau, and Bartell participating in a press conference that evening.
