L. Michelle Jackson

L. Michelle Jackson has spent the last decade with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

She is currently a Program Analyst in the Office of Burden Reduction and Health Informatics, focusing on cross-agency communications related to burden-reducing policies.

Prior to this position, Jackson served as an acting deputy division director, team lead and special assistant. She also served as a high school teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools from 2001 to 2006.

Jackson is a charter member of the Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the first and only graduate chapter serving the citizens of Baltimore County. She currently serves as the historian and one of the target leads of the HBCU Initiative. She also works with the mentoring programs of the chapter serving Randallstown, Owings Mills and Perry Hall High Schools (Md.). As a 20+ year member of New Psalmist Baptist Church, Jackson has served with the children’s ministry as well as the teen girls mentoring program.

She attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Bowie State University (Md.) as well as a master’s degree in Management from then-College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 2001. She also holds a Certificate in Instructional Technology from UMBC.

A lifelong resident of Baltimore County, Jackson resides with her son in Windsor Mill, Md.
