Enroll as a College Student

We are excited you have decided to apply to CCBC. What’s next?

Preparing for college can be overwhelming. These steps were developed to help you easily navigate the enrollment process If you are seeking college credit to earn a degree, certificate or transfer.

Enrollment To-Do List

1. Plan for payment

Consider expected costs for tuition and fees.

Apply for federal financial aid*: The FAFSA is available October 1 for the following year and can be submitted throughout the year. Apply before March 1 to receive priority consideration for Maryland state scholarships and grants.

*Financial aid may be available for full-time students or those enrolling in specific workforce training certification programs.

2. Meet with an Academic Advisor (online or in person)

An academic advisor can determine if you need placement testing.

If you do require testing, you can prepare for the placement test
(View Testing Center locations, hours of operation and ID requirements.)

They can also assist with:
  • Helping you build your schedule.
  • Registering for classes.
  • Navigating financial aid.
  • Research scholarship opportunities.
  • Establishing if you’ll need to complete any placement testing.
  • Working through academic challenges.
  • And much more!

3. Register for classes

You can register for classes online or in person. Or maybe you want to register for continuing education classes.

4. Pay your tuition and fees

Confirm available Financial Aid, VA educational benefits, employer or other tuition assistance. Submit related verification documents to the Financial Aid office. Questions? Contact the Bursar’s office.

5. Attend orientation

Check your student email for an invitation to attend an on-campus or online orientation.

6. Prep for success

Login to myCCBC to access your online student account (SIMON) and CCBC email to view important notifications from the college. Retrieve your username and password.

Get your CCBC OneCard, a multi-function ID card, to check out library materials, print documents, purchase vending snacks, secure dining rewards and more.
