“I want to run my own business, and I now have the knowledge and confidence to make it work.”
What does a high school student do when he decides a 9-to-5 career doesn’t fit into his life plan? If you’re Mark Brady, you start your own landscaping business and then head to college.
Mark wisely realized pursuing higher education would help him manage his business and propel his career. Affordability and flexibility were big factors for Mark in choosing where to go to school, so it didn’t take long for him to find the right fit in the Business Management program at CCBC.
“At CCBC, I knew I could gain an education and work at the same time,” Mark explains. “Plus, I’m saving a lot of money.”
He has been able to keep his landscaping business running by arranging classes around his work schedule, and his professors’ support has been a tremendous help for him as well. “They are always eager to help – coming in early, staying late,” he notes. “Everyone is very accommodating and supportive, and anxious to see you succeed.”
So what’s Mark’s advice to any student considering a CCBC education? “Go for it! It’s affordable, even if you have to work and go to school at the same time. I have a tight schedule, so it helps to have the flexibility to take night classes, early morning classes or even courses online. There are so many opportunities there for you.”
