Thailand: History, Culture, Cuisine, a non-credit course is being offered at CCBC Hunt Valley to compliment this trip.

Topics will include: History and culture of Thailand, including bustling Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Discover the beautiful temples, palaces, and visit the Hill Tribe people, Jim Thompson's Museum, Elephant camps, Bazaars, Temple of Dawn, solid gold Buddha and Thai staples/sauces/spices/herbs used in Thai cuisine. Create and sample fresh spring rolls with shrimp, spicy peanut sauce and green papaya salad. You will also learn about food stores and resources for Thai ingredients in Maryland and the U.S. Materials/food cost of $12.00 payable to Ang Robinson on 10/26/13.

Overview of trip

Join us for a trip to exotic Thailand. This 13-day trip will take you to Bangkok and Chiang Mai. There are two major options for this trip:
  • Five day course for Certification in Thai Massage for massage therapists, including time for sightseeing
  • Organized sightseeing with free time for personal interests with optional cooking course for one or two full days

Sightseeing includes:
  • Bangkok- Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddah, dating back to 1782, the home of the American silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson and his priceless antiques and artwork from the entire Southeast Asia region, tour of the canals (klongs) and more.
  • Chiang Mai and surrounding areas, including ancient temples, and elephant training camp, visits to village hill tribes, boat ride on the river and much more. Please click on the link to the itinerary at top of page.
