Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

The purpose of the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification, is to prepare the student to work as an entry-level network technician, network administrator, and/or network engineer.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to install, configure, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a Microsoft-based local area network and related services.

Using leading-edge technology, students will:
  • Learn the theory and principles of data communications
  • Perform hands-on exercises in which they will install workstation and server operating systems; configure network communication protocols (e.g. TCP/IP); install network services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, Active directory); setup user and group accounts; implement security (e.g., firewall and router configurations); implement fault tolerant disk systems; enable Internet connectivity; optimize system performance; and, most importantly, troubleshoot common networking problems.
