How to apply to the Nursing program

You may only apply to one Nursing program campus per start/semester. We will only process one Nursing application. The application fee is not refundable. You may not apply to both the Essex and Catonsville RN programs for the same semester.

Note: Applicants who are accepting a seat into the Practical or Registered Nursing programs are required to pay a non-refundable $200 seat fee in order to accept their offer of admission and reserve their space in the program. The fee will be applied to the student account after the first several weeks of class. Students who accept the seat and then do not attend the program will not be eligible for a refund of the fee.

Step 1 - Prepare to Apply

Review the admission packet for: Collect pertinent materials like unofficial transcripts for all US college‐level coursework and testing completed. Use these to help you complete the application.

CLEP, AP and non‐US college transcript evaluations (AACRAO, WES etc.) should be sent directly to CCBC’s School of Health Professions (SHP) Admission Office.

Step 2 - Complete CCBC CAS Application

If you have never before applied through the CAS system, then create an account in CCBC CAS through the applicant portal and follow the directions to complete the applications.

If you applied using the CAS System before, then login and verify that all areas are correct. If you have taken additional courses, you must add them and send an official transcript showing the completed or in‐progress courses.

Once all sections of the application have a green check mark, you will be able to pay the $50 non‐refundable application fee. It is better to submit the application at least a month before the application deadline.

  • August 31st for Spring start
  • January 31st for Fall start

Step 3 - Official Transcripts

Submit your official U.S. college transcripts to CCBC CAS using the Transcript Request Form. The Transcript Request Form is found in the Academic History section after you have added and saved all of the colleges you attended. Have your college send the official transcripts (this includes any CCBC transcripts) and the form to CCBC CAS at:

CCBC CAS Transcript Processing Center
P.O. Box 9134
Watertown, MA 02471

CLEP, AP, and non‐U.S. college transcript evaluations should not be sent to the CCBC CAS. Instead, send them to CCBC’s School of Health Professions (SHP) Admission Office. It can take 4 weeks for any transcript to be received and verified. Check your CCBC CAS account frequently and follow up with the processing center as necessary. It is better to send transcripts sooner rather than later.

Step 4 - Test Scores

Submit official TEAS V scores to CCBC’s SHP Admissions office. Select CCBC TEAS at time of testing to have official transcripts sent. Scores strongly recommended for RN Admission are:
  • Composite = Proficient or higher
  • Reading = 69% or higher
The TEAS exam must be completed by the TEAS deadline of:
  • August 15th for Spring start
  • January 15th for Fall start

Step 5 - Supplemental Information

After you submit your CAS application, CCBC will send an email update. You may be requested to complete a supplemental application.
  • You will only receive this email if it applies to you.
  • There is no additional fee associated with the supplemental information application.

Step 6 - Communication

Expect communication regarding your application status via email. You may also log into your CCBC CAS account to see notifications.
