Inclement weather plan for Commencement ceremony
Graduates and faculty should plan to arrive, robe and line up as advised. CCBC will provide graduates and faculty with clear ponchos to cover their regalia during the processional and recessional. As the grounds and walkways leading to the tent may be impacted by recent and forecasted rain, graduates and their guests should plan for safety and dress accordingly. Limited seating is available inside the Wellness and Athletic Center, where guests may choose to view a live video feed of the ceremony. The college will also live stream the Commencement ceremony to view from the comfort of home. Live stream »
In the event of severe weather, the ceremony may be stopped, and an announcement will be made directing everyone to move promptly to their cars or to one of three buildings:
- The Wellness and Athletics Center, the Romadka College Center, OR the Arts and Humanities Hall, both of which are located on the opposite side of the Wellness and Athletics Center. Campus Police officers will assist in guiding guests to those locations; however, cars are the preferred location, as building capacities are limited.
- If the ceremony is stopped and an evacuation of the tent is ordered, we will not return to complete the commencement ceremony. Please remain in the buildings or in your car until it is safe to leave the campus. Campus Police officers will inform you of severe weather conditions as they develop. Please be courteous to guests requiring spaces reserved for wheelchairs. This is especially important in the event of an emergency, in which case our Campus Police officers will direct you to safely evacuate the tent.
- Should the ceremony end early due to inclement weather, diplomas will be mailed to students at the address on file with CCBC.
