CCBC Catonsville jumped out to a 20-point advantage in the first half, but couldn't hold the lead and lost to Salem Community College 76-72 in the opening game of the 2007-08 season in the Montgomery College-Rockville Tournament Saturday, November 10, 2007. Poor offensive execution and untimely turnovers allowed Salem to score 54 points in the second half to pull out the win. Lyndon Jones led the Cardinals with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Carl Brown added 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Kareen Downs netted 13 points and 3 assists and Marlin Parker, Jr. tallied 12 points. James Thomas kicked in with 6 rebounds.

Sunday, November 11, 2007 vs CCBC Dundalk W 62-61 1-1
|
Playing its second straight game on the road, CCBC Catonsville rallied from a 18-point first half deficit to beat cross-town rival CCBC Dundalk 62-61 in the Montgomery College-Rockville Tournament Sunday, November 11, 2007. With 13 minutes remaining in the first half, the Cardinals trailied the Lions 19-1. Despite the deficit, the Cardinals rallied and pulled to within three points at the half, 33-30. Timely defensive stops, big rebounds and key baskets vaulted the Cardinals to the win in the second half. Four Cardinals posted double figures. Latrell Alford tallied 13 points and 6 rebounds. Lyndon Jones and Marlin Parker, Jr. each added 12 points, Kareem Downs chipped in with 11 points. On the rebounding ledger, James Thomas swiped 8 rebounds, while Carl Brown collected 6. Justin Winkel led the team in assists with 5.

Friday, November 16, 2007 vs Cape Fear CC L 80-69 1-2

A poor shooting night from the field contributed to an 80-69 loss to Cape Fear Community College in the opening game of the Cape Fear Tournament in Wilmington, NC. The Cardinals shot 34% from the field and 60% (21-35) from the charity stripe against a much bigger and more experienced opponent.

Saturday, November 17, 2007 vs Denmark Technical L 71-45 1-3
|
Timely shooting and a smothering defense led Denmark Technical to a 71-45 win over CCBC Catonsville in the consolation game of the Cape Fear Tournament. Another poor shooting night from the field (32%) and from the free throw line (10-20), along with poor execution and effort, were keys in the second straight loss for a team that has no returning starters. Latrell Alford turned in an outstanding performance with 28 points and 9 rebounds.

Wednesday, November 28, 2007 vs CCBC Dundalk L 63-55 1-4

In a tightly contested game, CCBC Dundalk held on the beat CCBC Catonsville 63-55. Despite flip-flopping leads and holding a five-point edge late in the second half, the Cardinals could not convert on many scoring opportunities and recorded its fourth loss of the season. Justin Winkel and CJ Brown each tallied 12 points. James Thomas netted 10 points and collected five rebounds. Ernest McGill paced the Cardinals with five assists.

Friday, November 30, 2007 vs Allegany L 71-47 1-5
|
Despite its first home court advantage of the season, CCBC Catonville lost to Allegany 71-47. Unable to remedy Allegany's second half full-court pressure and considerable size advantage, the Cardinals were outscored 39-20 in the second half and dropped its record to 1-5 and 0-2 in the conference. Ernest McGill tallied 11 points and four rebounds. Marlin Parker, Jr. also added 11 points.

Monday, January 7, 2008 vs Anne Arundel W 83-64 2-11

The Cardinals earned their first Maryland JuCo conference win of the season with an 83-64 win over visiting Anne Arundel Community College. Leading 35-33 at intermission, the Cardinals outscored the Pioneers 48-29 in the second half to notch the win. The Cardinals had five players score in double figures. Latrell Alford netted 20 points, James Thomas added 17 points, Anthony Fisher kicked in 17, Ernest McGill posted 12 points and Justin Winkel finshed with 11 points.

Wednesday, January 9, 2008 vs Howard W 66-54 3-11

The Cardinals registered their second Maryland JuCo conference win of the season with a 66-54 victory over Howard Community College. For the second consecutive game, Latrell Alford led the Cardinals in scoring with 22 points. Two other Cardinals also scored in double figures. Ernest McGill finished with 15 points, and Anthony Fisher finished with 11 points. Racing to a 32-25 lead at the half, the Cardinals outscored Howard 34-29 in the second half as well.

Wednesday, January 16, 2008 vs Montgomery College - Takoma Park W 78-65 4-11
|
Led by the solid point guard play of Kareem Downs, CCBC Catonsville garnered its third straight win with a 78-65 beating of Montgomery College-Takoma Park. Downs finished one assist shy from a double-double with 11 points and 9 assists. Exploding to a 40-26 halftime advantage, the Cardinals had three other players score in double digits. Ernest McGill nailed down 23 points and ripped down 9 rebounds, Latrell Alford pitched in 18 points and five rebounds and Anthony Fisher finished with 10.

Saturday, January 19, 2008 vs Garrett L 76-68 2 OT 4-12

Playing their third consecutive road game,and the opportunity to pick up their fourth straight win, the Cardinals suffered a 76-68 loss to Garrett Community College. Leading by two in regulation, the Cardinals surrended a game-tying basket to the Lakers. Furthermore, shooting a sloopy 9-20 from the charity stripe in regulation proved costly. Nevertheless, Kareem Downs led the Cardinals in scoring with 14 points. Three other Cardianls recorded double figures in points as well. Ernest McGill banged in 13 points and collected 7 rebounds and 5 assists, Latrell Alford added 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Justin Winkel jammed in 10.

Wednesday, February 6, 2008 vs Montgomery College - Germantown L 72-70 OT 6-15
|
Despite 23 points each from Kareen Downs and Ernest McGill, CCBC Catonsville suffered a 72-70 overtime loss to Montgomery College - Germantown. Trailing for most of the contest, the Cardinals fought back to tie the game and force an overtime period. James Thomas also added 11 points to the scoring total. McGill also added 11 rebounds to his production total. Playing with flu like symptoms, Lovell Kosh finished with 5 points and 6 rebounds. Downs added 6 assists.

Friday, February 8, 2008 vs Cecil L 100-69 6-16

Kareem Downs' seven three-pointers wasn't enough as CCBC Catonsville fell 100-69 to top ranked Cecil. After falling behind 10-0 in the first two minutes of the game, the Cardinals settled in and trailed 50 to 39 at the half. Kareem Downs led the Cardinals in scoring with 28 points. Downs set a personal best by making 7 three point shots in the game. Ernest McGill tallied 17 points and four rebounds. Latrell Alford added 11 points and four rebounds.
