Aviation Technology

Whether you are looking to prepare for an exciting career in aviation, take pilot ground school classes, use your VA Benefits to pursue flight training, complete a degree or certificate in aviation, or transfer to a four-year aviation college or university, CCBC has you covered.

CCBC offers academic and applied training to prepare students for air traffic control, aircraft dispatcher, professional pilot, flight operations management, and flight attendant careers.

The CCBC Aviation Program is the largest aviation degree program in the Mid-Atlantic Region. We have been training aviation professionals since 1974.  Our graduates have found employment with various airlines, airports, military services, aviation contractors, air traffic control facilities, and other state and federal government agencies.

CCBC is located in one of the largest concentrations of aviation activity in the world: the Baltimore-Washington and Philadelphia metropolitan regions. This is beneficial for our students as they can take advantage of numerous internships and work at nearby airports, aviation-related businesses, and government agencies. This valuable work experience generally leads to employment in the aviation industry. We are also able to attract talented instructors who are actively working in the aviation field.

This program is designed to be flexible to accommodate both non-degree and degree-seeking students. Students wishing to complete an aviation degree may do so one or two courses at a time, or enroll full-time to earn their degree in minimum time.

CCBC welcomes Veterans and International Students.

Accreditation

The Aviation Program is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  CCBC is an active member of the University Aviation Association (UAA) serving on numerous committees. CCBC is also a member of the Association of Collegiate Training Institutions (ACTI).

Transfer to 4 year degree programs

CCBC Aviation Program credits successfully transfer to most four-year aviation colleges and universities. If you are interested in ultimately earning a four year aviation degree, completing your first two years at CCBC can save you thousands of dollars, as CCBC college credits are typically half the cost of four-year aviation institutions.

CCBC Catonsville enjoys established transfer agreements (meaning all CCBC Catonsville credits will be accepted) with several local, four-year colleges and universities that offer B.S. degrees in Aviation Management, Aviation Safety, Professional Aeronautics, and more!
