The Community College of Baltimore County has been training Aviation Professionals for over 40 years! Watch a video on our program!
The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Aviation Program offers Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degrees in Air Traffic Control, Flight Management, and Flight Training. We also offer aviation certificate programs in Air Traffic Control, Aviation Management, Flight Attendant and Flight Training.
CCBC is located in close proximity to the large concentration of aviation activity in the Baltimore-Washington and Philadelphia regions. This is beneficial for our students, as they can take advantage of numerous internships and work at nearby airports and air traffic control facilities. This valuable work experience generally leads to employment in the aviation industry. We are also able to attract talented instructors who are actively working in the aviation field.
Please review the CCBC Aviation Program Information Packet for details on our degree and certificate programs including curriculum, course descriptions, application and registration, financial aid and VA Benefits.
CCBC is the only two-year aviation college in the state of Maryland and has been designated a statewide program, which means in-county tuition rates apply to all Maryland residents.
Accreditation
The Aviation Program is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). CCBC is a member of the University Aviation Association and is seeking accreditation from the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI).
Flexible Programs
The CCBC Aviation Program offers a variety of courses to meet your needs. Whether you are looking to take pilot ground school classes, complete a degree or certificate in aviation, or transfer to a four-year aviation college or university, CCBC has you covered.
This program is designed to be flexible to accommodate both non-degree and degree-seeking students. Students wishing to complete an aviation degree may do so, one or two courses at a time, or may opt to take classes full-time, earning their degree in minimum time.
Transfer to 4 Year Degree Programs
CCBC Aviation Program credits successfully transfer to most four-year aviation colleges and universities. If you are interested in ultimately earning a four year aviation degree, completing your first two years at CCBC can save you thousands of dollars, as CCBC college credits are typically half the cost of four-year aviation institutions.
CCBC Catonsville enjoys established transfer agreements (meaning all CCBC Catonsville credits will be accepted) with several local, four-year colleges and universities that offer B.S. degrees in Aviation Management, Flight Training, Professional Aeronautics, Airway Science and more!
