Warp Trio: "Black Voices"

Friday, February 22, 12:20 PM-1:20 PM | CCBC Essex

Arts & Humanities Hall (AHUM) | Recital Hall

In celebration of African-American History Month, we present Warp Trio, which has been described as "A talented group that exemplifies the genre-obliterating direction of contemporary classical music."

Featuring Juilliard trained members juxtaposed with members steeped in rock and jazz styles, this is a one of a kind trio (that even has a fourth member!). Their concert program “Black Voices” integrates classical, jazz, hip-hop and spoken word, presenting works created by African-American artists.

The program consists of poetry of Langston Hughes, Ntozake Shange, and Maya Angelou, as well as original spoken word, complimented with music by Duke Ellington, William Grant Still, Harry T. Burleigh and original compositions from Warp Trio.

Free to all, no ticket needed!
