Selective Admissions
Welcome to the Office of Selective Admissions for the School of Health
Professions at CCBC!
We are located on the Essex Campus in Building J, room 101. We provide
a variety of services related to outreach and recruitment and career
counseling for students who are interested in a career in an allied
health field. We also receive and process the applications for all of
the credit programs in the School of Health Professions (except
Physician Assistant, which has an on-line application service).
If you have questions about admissions for any of the SHP programs,
please call us at 410-780-6112 or stop by the office during our regular
hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You may also
contact us at our email: ccbcahsadmission@ccbcmd.edu
All credit programs in the School of Health Professions (SHP) are
selective admissions programs. Application for admission to these
programs is a separate process from admission to CCBC. Admission to the
college does not imply admission to any of the programs in the SHP.
Admission is competitive and selective and may depend upon factors such
as: grades in prerequisite courses, patient contact experience,
reference letters, interviews, preadmission testing, and overall CCBC
GPA. Each program has its own unique admission criteria.
Students in the School of Health Professions are required to conduct
themselves according to an honor code, exhibit professional behavior,
communicate effectively in English, provide proof of health insurance
and immunizations, and participate in a criminal background check. They
may also be required to submit to random urine drug testing at clinical
sites.
