Citations & Policy Enforcement

The CCBC Department of Public Safety (DPS) is actively enforcing the tobacco-free policy. Through December 31, 2012 DPS officers will issue verbal and written warnings to ensure the CCBC community understands and follows the new policy.

Starting January 1, 2013 officers may issue written citations with an initial fine of $35. If no appeal is filed with the appeals board within 10 days of the citation issue date, the fine stands. If not paid within 30 days, the fine doubles, and after 60 days, the fine triples.

Students who fail to pay required fines may face additional disciplinary action and may have 'holds' placed on their accounts. College employees who fail to pay required fines may be disciplined as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
