Gear up for a career behind the wheel

To meet the increasing need for qualified truck drivers, CCBC now offers a CDL-A training program at the CCBC Transportation Training Center at Tradepoint Atlantic, on the east side of Baltimore County. Earning a Class A license qualifies a driver to operate many different types of commercial trucks and tractor-trailers.

CCBC’s eight-week, 280-hour trucking program is designed to provide a pool of skilled drivers for transportation companies in the Baltimore region and beyond. The program emphasizes safety, using state-of-the-industry equipment and a small faculty/student ratio, and always keeps COVID safety protocols in place.

The all-inclusive program includes the cost of the U.S. Department of Transportation drug screen, student physical exam, and learner’s permit fee.

Applicants must be 18 years old, able to pass a DOT drug screen and physical, hold a valid Maryland Driver’s License (Class C), and maintain zero points for drug/alcohol violations. Successful completers of the CDL training will be prepared to take the Commercial Driver’s License skills exam and be on their way to a promising career full of opportunity.
