The CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame will induct the 2007 CCBC Catonsville Women’s Soccer team at a ceremony during a soccer doubleheader at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at CCBC Catonsville. The CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame honors former student-athletes and former and current coaches, teams, and athletic administrators/staff for outstanding contributions to athletics on the three main CCBC campuses.

The 2007 CCBC Catonsville Women’s Soccer team captured the NJCAA national championship, the first national athletic title for CCBC Catonsville in a multi-divisional sport played nationwide. A top-ranked team for nearly the entire season, 19 talented student-athletes from diverse backgrounds came together 14 years ago to defeat Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, Iowa.) for the Division I national title.

During a mid-November 2007 weekend in Albany, Georgia, the team won three tournament games, culminating with a 1-0 championship game victory. The team finished with a 20-1 record with team members garnering two NJCAA All-American honors; two NSCAA/Adidas national awards; and 21 combined All-NJCAA Region XX, All-Maryland JUCO Conference, and All-Tournament awards. The program was led by the late Coach James T. Haislip, Assistant Coach Janell Coffman, and Athletic Director Brian R. Farrell.

The CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, under the leadership of Chairman George Henderson, selected this team to join the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame this past winter. Now in its 11th year, the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame has 205 honorees.
