CCBC Planetarium opens winter season with four shows

“Try This on for Size!” 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2023
It’s a big world out there, but just how big is it? Learn more about how Earth compares to the sun and how some celestial bodies we know stack up against others in space. This show is suitable for adults and children over the age of 8. (Outside observing afterwards, weather permitting.)
“Aliens in our Solar System?” 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 (Children’s show)
Learn about the characteristics of the planets in our solar system and what alien life forms would have to be like in order to live there.
“Vernal Equinox,” 8 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023
The next Vernal Equinox is Monday, March 20 at 5:43 a.m. Learn more about the equinox, if the days and nights are really exactly equal, and what’s so special about where the sun rises and sets. This show is suitable for adults and children over the age of 8. (Outside observing afterwards, weather permitting.)
“A Constellation Fairy Tale” and “The Little BIG Star,” 10 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023 (Children’s show)
Come hear some astronomical fairy tales such as the lady constellations and the life of Barnabas the Black Hole.
All planetarium shows are FREE and open to the public. Attendance for all shows is by reservation only. Shows are held in Room 030A (Benjamin Banneker Planetarium) located in the Mathematics and Science Hall building at CCBC Catonsville, 800 South Rolling Rd.
