Supporting survivors through a trauma-informed lens

In The Secret Life of Bees, Lily’s mother suffered physical and mental abuse at the hands of her father. We want to see violence eradicated from society. Michelle Valorae, the House of Ruth Community Engagement Lead, will host “Bystander Intervention for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)” which is an interactive training designed to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to safely recognize, respond to and prevent relationship abuse.

This session explores the dynamics of IPV, common warning signs and practical intervention strategies using a trauma-informed lens. Participants will leave with tangible tools to disrupt harmful behaviors, support survivors effectively and help foster a culture of accountability and safety within their organization and community. This event is co-sponsored with the Institute for Social and Economic Justice (ISEJ).
