Singers from the Vocal Studies department of the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University will perform an array of art songs written by African American composers under the direction of Associate Professor Carl DuPont. The artists will present a curated recital integrating live performance with scholarly commentary that illuminates the intersection of race, gender, sexuality, and class within each work's creation and reception history.
This is a free event; no ticket required.
Music Forum concerts take place at 12:20 p.m. on Fridays in the CCBC Essex Arts and Humanities Hall, Recital Hall, unless otherwise noted.
