A graduate of the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul, Korea, Mr. Wang received a Bachelor of Arts in Korean Traditional Performing Arts. He has studied with Professor Kim Duk Soo, the founder and creator of Samulnori, among other masters of Korean Traditional Arts. Mr. Wang coordinates a Korean percussion ensemble at University of Maryland and a professional ensemble, Washington Samulnori. He will present an interactive workshop and performance highlighting the rhythms from all three major provincial areas of Korea. Free to all; no ticket required.
