CCBC hosts conference to celebrate Maryland STEM Festival 2022

CCBC is hosting a Blue Collar STEM Conference as part of the Maryland STEM Festival, a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics that takes place every fall.


CCBC is hosting a Blue Collar STEM Conference as part of the Maryland STEM Festival, a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics that takes place every fall.
The event will be held 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29 at CCBC Catonsville, Health Careers and Technology Building (HTEC), Room 205.

The Blue Collar STEM Conference will include an address by the National Science Foundation and an industry panel discussion on the future occupational outlook for students involved in STEM studies. CCBC is expected to host more than 100 middle and high school students and their parents for the event.

Attendees can participate in tours and training demonstrations of various CCBC programs, including Physical Sciences, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering and Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology and HVAC. There will be an optional tour and video presentation beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Benjamin Banneker Planetarium.

CCBC Admissions will also be on hand to provide information on STEM programs and Early College Access programs. The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required by October 25. To reserve a spot, send an email with attendees’ names to mdstemfest@gmail.com.
