Publicity for events and programs

Timing is everything when planning an event or seeking promotion for your program.

To increase the chances of gaining media coverage success, contact the Media Relations team early in the process. We will work with you to create a plan to increase awareness both internally and externally. And best of all, most of our efforts are free to clients (e.g., press releases) or at a very low cost (e.g. Facebook boosts) to clients.

Outlets used by the Media Relations team to create awareness include:

  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Trade publications
  • Radio
  • Television
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
  • CCBC Website (Newsroom articles, calendar listings)
  • MOOD Voice (CCBC’s on-hold telephone message system)
  • Daily Post
  • Student Portal
For the best promotional results, please notify a member of the Media Relations team 4-6 weeks in advance of your event or promotion and provide comprehensive information about your news item including the crucial What, When, Where, Why and How. Also provide a contact name, phone number, email address, a quote reporters can use about your announcement, as well as a high-resolution photograph (300 dpi or greater), if one is available.
