Community Book Connection

Come together as a learning community.

Each year, members of the college community select a book that everyone is encouraged to read. A series of cultural and academic activities — films, plays, dance performances, debates, panels and lectures — are organized to support the project.

Traditionally, the book’s author is invited to speak on one of CCBC’s campuses. It’s a great way to strengthen our common human and intellectual bonds and to demonstrate how classroom discussion and activity are deeply connected to our lives in the everyday world.

It feels good to give back.

Students at CCBC don't just get a great education, they also get involved with our local communities.

There are an abundance of service opportunities where you can volunteer from helping the homeless, animal rights, civil rights, children's issues or the environment — we have it all! Learn more about service opportunities»

Or perhaps you will be interested in the Alternative Break Program. It's an alternative to taking a break from school and relaxing. CCBC students take a week of their summer or their whole spring break to do service away from their community. Learn more about the Alternative Break Program»
