Learn to use stoneware clay and electric wheels to practice centering, shaping and forming basic shapes such as bowls, cylinders and plates. Examine terminology, properties of clay, basic design and decorative glazing techniques. Designed for beginning pottery students learning to use a wheel for the first time or continuing their start as a potter. Note: Bring small bucket and sponge to class. The first 10 pounds of clay and one firing is included in the cost of the course. You will be responsible for additional clay and firings. Wear old work clothes, apron and closed-toe shoes.
