Traces the evolution of hip hop culture from the foundations laid during slavery, the Harlem Renaissance, and the Civil Rights movement, through 1970-1990 as a predominantly African-American art form, to its current transformation as a multi-cultural phenomenon impacting dance, music, literature and popular culture. Attendance of the CCBC Dance Company performance is required. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.
Prerequisite(s): ESOL 054 or ACLT 052 or ACLT 053.
