Dental Hygiene Clinic

Quality care under expert supervision

At our Dental Hygiene Clinic, you will receive comprehensive preventive and therapeutic services – including, but not limited to, professional dental cleanings, oral cancer screenings, dental X-rays, exams by a licensed dentist and individualized treatment planning. All care is provided by student clinicians under the close supervision of licensed dental hygienists and dentists. This is a win-win: you receive quality care at a reduced cost, and our students gain valuable, hands-on clinical experience.

Appointments required!

To schedule an appointment:

  1. Give us a call at 443.840.3495.
  2. Complete our dental and medical history form. Bring this form with you to your appointment.

Please note: while a standard dental visit elsewhere typically lasts an hour, our sessions are scheduled for up to two and a half hours to allow for hands-on learning. Depending on the student's experience level and the complexity of the treatment you need, more than one appointment may be required to complete your care.

From screenings to cleanings.

Our clinic provides affordable, high-quality dental hygiene care, designed to promote long-lasting oral health. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment and screenings: medical/dental history review, vital signs, oral cancer screening, dental and periodontal assessment, and radiographic imaging to support early disease detection and treatment planning.
  • Preventative procedures and treatments: basic (dental prophylaxis) and deep (scaling and root planing) cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, oral hygiene instruction, nutritional counseling.
  • Specialized care and pain management: laser gum therapy, local anesthesia and nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation, oral irrigation and medicament placement.

We do not provide restorative services such as fillings, extractions, crowns, root canals, etc. If it is discovered that you need these services during treatment, we will provide a referral.

As a low-cost clinic, we do not require or accept dental insurance.

All of our services are offered at an affordable flat rate! We welcome all patients ages 3 and up! There are no geographic or residency requirements. Here is the cost breakdown for an initial dental visit, which includes assessments, exams and basic dental cleaning:

  • General public (ages 12 and older): $20
  • Children (ages 3-11): $10
  • Seniors (ages 66 and older): $10
  • Students and alumni: $10
  • Faculty and staff: $15
  • Additional procedures may require a separate fee.  X-rays range from $2 to $20, while other services – such as sealants and root planing – start at $20 to $25.
