Anesthesia Technology

CCBC and Johns Hopkins Health System have collaborated to create a new Anesthesia Technology program unlike any within the state or region.

Under this program, those currently employed or those interested in the field can earn an associate of applied science degree – a credential mandated in 2015 by the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists.

The Anesthesia Technology program provides courses that offer the full range of clinical and instructional experience to practice as an anesthesia technologist. Graduates of the program are eligible for certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists — the organization responsible for maintaining the competency standards of technologists and technicians in all areas of anesthesia. Students within the program will be taught by experienced instructors with most being employed by the Johns Hopkins Health System as anesthesia technologists, nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists.

This program requires the ability to perform equipment maintenance & servicing and assist licensed anesthesia providers with patient assessments, insertion of intravenous lines and airway management.
