CLEP – Credit by Examination

How would you like to get college credit for what you already know?

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Developed by the College Board, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program. Passing many of the available CLEP exams can help you achieve your college and career goals here at CCBC.

CLEP @ CCBC can help you

  • Save Time - Accelerate your degree program by moving directly into higher-level courses
  • Save Money - Avoid the rising cost of higher education
  • Move Ahead - Place into the right classes and avoid repeating material that you’ve already learned
  • Graduate on Time - Complete your degree program if you’re a few credits shy of graduation
  • Maximize Military Educational Benefits - CLEP for Military and Veterans illustrates how military-friendly CLEP really is

CCBC's World Languages and CLEP

  • CCBC students who did not study a world language in a U.S. high school may have developed competency in a language due to other life learning experiences and may take the CLEP to receive college credit for prior learning.
  • CCBC students who are native speakers of a foreign language may take the CLEP to receive college credit for prior learning.
