Strengthening the health care workforce

CCBC’s School of Health Professions (SHP) is the largest provider of undergraduate health care training in the state of Maryland and is ranked 11th in the nation among all 1,200 community colleges in awarding Associates degrees in Health Professions and related allied health programs (2013 ranking).

The sustainability of such educational prominence demands a coordinated approach to the relentless adoption of innovation, community engagement, enlightened leadership and resource development. SHP is implementing a number of initiatives including securing expanding and modernizing its facilities, increasing the number of full-time faculty to expand enrollment capacity to meet heavy demand and sustaining its highly successful student retention initiative.
