Teddy Syrette: Two Spirit & LGBTQ+ History and Experiences

Tuesday, October 10, 11:15 AM-12:15 PM | Online

What does it mean to be Two-Spirit? "Two-spirit" refers to a person who identifies as having both a masculine and a feminine spirit, and is used by some Indigenous people to describe their gender and/or spiritual identity.

Teddy Syrette's presentation will engage with participants to explore what they know and what they think they know about Two-Spirit and Queer-Trans Indigenous intersectional experiences and histories. We will review LGBTQ+ Pride history of Turtle Island and its impacts on Indigenous - LGBTQ+ peoples. You are encouraged to come with an open heart, mind and spirit.
