Student Accessibility

You belong here.

We believe that all students deserve an equal opportunity to succeed. That's why Student Accessibility Services (SAS) offers a wide range of resources and services to support students with documented physical, learning, psychological and cognitive disabilities.

Counseling

Starting college can be a daunting experience, but our SAS counselors are here to support you every step of the way. Students can book an appointment for help with:

  • Understanding your medical documentation and eligibility for services.
  • Accommodations for placement testing or CCBC classes/activities.
  • Course selection, registration or changing your program.
  • Identifying and reaching personal, academic and career goals.

Classroom and testing accomodations

Accomodations will vary based on individual student factors, but some may include:

  • Sign Language Interpreters
  • Books in Braille or electronic format
  • Accommodated testing
  • Furniture and equipment
  • Textbooks in alternate format
  • Assistive technology

Support beyond the classroom

Our Career Services department can help you prep for job placement, whether it's putting together your resume or practicing for a job interview. We also partner with referral programs such as Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) which helps motivated students with disabilities find permanent or temporary jobs.

Career Services

CCBC is home to the Gamma Beta Chapter of Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society. Through Delta Alpha Pi, students can facilitate conversations on disability and accessibility, promote self-advocacy and engage in community events on disability-related topics. You can also choose from a wide selection of student led clubs and organizations, based on your personal or academic interests!

Clubs and organizations

No matter which campus you attend, CCBC strives to be easily accessible through designated parking, elevators and building ramps.

Current students

If you're a current student with a documented disability and need accomodations for your learning, your first step is to connect with an SAS counselor. We will review your documentation of disability and work with you to develop an accommodation plan.
