Applying to CCBC as an International Student

Follow these steps to apply to CCBC as an international student.* Submit all required documents to International Student Services by:
  • June 1 for the Fall semester
  • November 1 for the Spring semester

Step 1: Submit the application for admission

Complete the CCBC Application for Admission. There’s no application fee.

Step 2: Submit all required documents to International Student Services

Along with a CCBC application for admission, international students will also need to submit the following:

  1. A certified copy of high school transcripts in English, that verifies completion of secondary school
  2. Proof of English Language Proficiency with one of the following:
    • Official TOEFL score report with a minimum score of 450 paper-based/133 computerized/45 iBT (Send TOEFL codes to CCBC code # 5137)
    • IELTS score report with a 5.0 or higher
    • Note: Students from English speaking countries are not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
  3. Declaration of Financial Support form
  4. Original financial statements to verify sufficient funds. These statements must:
    • Be written in English on bank letterhead
    • Display the sponsor’s name as the owner of the account
    • Be less than 6 months old
    • Show a minimum of $26,411 in U.S. dollars
  5. Personal Data sheet
  6. A copy of student’s passport
The college application process for F-1 Visa holders is regulated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In order to receive an offer for admissions, F-1 international students must meet certain educational and financial eligibility criteria.

*If you are already attending a school in the U.S. and would like to transfer to CCBC, follow the application instructions for international transfer students.

Next steps

Upon receiving your CCBC Acceptance Letter and Certificate of Eligibility (I-20), complete the items below.
  • Pay your SEVIS fee.
  • Schedule a VISA interview at the U.S. Consulate or the Embassy in your country.
  • Be prepared to impress the interviewers why you want to study in the United States.
  • Notify your assigned CCBC Designated School Official (DSO) of your VISA interview outcome, and your expected arrival date in the United States.
  • Prepare to travel to the United States.

Upon arrival in Maryland, schedule an orientation and registration appointment with your assigned DSO.


Tuition and Fees

One condition of obtaining an F-1 International Student Visa is the agreement to engage in full-time study and the documentation of sufficient funding. View the complete list of F-1 Visa restrictions and requirements »

F-1 Visa holders must enroll in a minimum of 12 credits per semester and pay the out-of-state tuition rate.
