You’ve applied to CCBC – smart move. What’s next? There are some important steps you need to take between now and when you register for classes.Take a look at these categories and decide which one best describes you.
First-time attending college (new student)
- Learn how to pay for college
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Send your final official high school transcript or GED transcript to the CCBC Registrar’s office
- Prepare for and take the placement test if required

First-time attending college (current high school student)
- Learn about the discounts you receive as an Early College Access Program (ECAP) student.
- Submit a completed ECAP Consent Form to the ECAP department at: ecap@ccbcmd.edu.
- Send your unofficial high school transcript or SAT/ACT scores to the ECAP department at: ecap@ccbcmd.edu.
- Placement testing will be required if you do not have a qualifying cumulative GPA or wish to take a class that requires a Math prerequisite. Contact the ECAP department at: ecap@ccbcmd.edu to see if placement testing is required.

Leaving another college to attend CCBC (transfer student)
- Send your official college transcript(s) to the CCBC Registrar’s office for transfer credit evaluation
- Meet with an advisor before enrolling in classes
- Learn about CCBC payment options
- Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Attending another college, but taking a course at CCBC (visiting student)
- Obtain written approval from your home college or university that CCBC course credits will be accepted in transfer
- Send a copy of your college transcript(s) to the CCBC Registrar’s office for review and to confirm that prerequisites are met for the selected course
- Learn about CCBC payment options
