This course is designed to enable the apprentice to learn how to properly burn and weld different sized pipe using different electrodes and in different positions. This is the first course in a four-course sequence to prepare the student to pass the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) welding test. Topics to be covered include measuring pipe, using layout tools, cutting pipe to given dimensions, welding pipes of different sizes, welding in different positions, and safety.
